Dominic Lash is best known in the improvised music world as a double bassist, but spent a good deal of lockdown practicing the guitar. This is his first live performance on the instrument since then. He has just released the first three CDs on his Spoonhunt label: Limulus with Javier Carmona, Ricardo Tejero, and Alex Ward; Distinctions with a 20-piece group including Steve Beresford, Marjolaine Charbin, Chris Cundy, Angharad Davies, Phil Durrant, Yoni Silver, and many more; and Discernment with John Butcher, John Russell, and Mark Sanders.

Charlotte Keeffe’s unique approach and passion for jazz, experimental and freely improvised music sees her performing regularly as a soloist and as part of a variety of different ensembles, including her own quartet; Charlotte Keeffe(‘s) Quartet performed a sellout performance at Lancaster Jazz Festival in 2019 and their live recording from Jazz in the Round has been played regularly on radio stations around the world. Her quartet features Ashley John Long on double bass, Ben Handysides on drums and Moss Freed on guitar. (The) Charlotte Keeffe Quartet are touring the U.K. from June 2021.


Charlotte is a member of several collaborations; the London Improvisers Orchestra, Moss Freed’s Union Division and Calum Gourlay’s Big Band. She plays regularly with Alex Ward, Otto Willberg and Andrew Lisle, in Andrew’s trio and Alex’s Item 4 and 10. Charlotte is also part of Birmingham-based Andrew Woodhead’s Pendulums, and plays alongside jazz stalwart Annie Whitehead in Ben Higham’s The Brass Monkeys and with jazz stars Jay Phelps and Rosie Turton in Dan Samsa’s Contours. Alya Al-Sultani’s upcoming opera, Two Sisters, sees Charlotte playing alongside the likes of Alice Zawadzki, Robert Mitchell and Dave Kane. She also plays the role of Musician in Goblin Theatre’s production for children, The Legend of the Jazz Penguin.

Mark Wastell is a London based musician who has been working in contemporary music since the early 1990’s, making his initial concerts with the trio IST featuring Rhodri Davies and Simon H. Fell. During this period he also became a member of Derek Bailey’s Company, Evan Parker’s String Orchestra and Chris Burn’s Ensemble. He co-formed The Sealed Knot with Rhodri Davies and Burkhard Beins in 2000. He has been a member of other notable groups including Assumed Possibilities, The Scotch of St. James, +minus and Oceans of Silver and Blood. Mark also helms The Seen, a metamorphic large group which has incorporated over 80 musicians since its inception in 2003. He has performed and recorded extensively and his varied resume includes projects with John Butcher, Lasse Marhaug, John Tilbury, Mattin, Mark Sanders, Tony Conrad, Tim Barnes, Bernhard Günter, Keith Rowe, John Zorn, Peter Kowald, Joachim Nordwall, Otomo Yoshihide, Paul Dunmall, David Toop, Alan Wilkinson, Max Eastley, Hugh Davies, Julie Tippetts, Alan Skidmore, Mike Cooper, Chris Abrahams, Stewart Lee, Clive Bell, Arild Andersen and David Sylvian. Mark also runs the Confront Recordings record label which has released over 120 albums to date.
