The first MOUTH was a duo Lol Coxhill soprano saxophone and Mike Walter tenor saxophone.
They performed and recorded together for twelve years and often grew into a quartet with the addition of acoustic bass and drums.
Mike also gathered a trio under the same moniker for occasional performances.
For some time Mike pondered A Bigger MOUTH and eventually began the process of forming a sextet.
The aim was to bring together musicians and their instruments from diverse musical backgrounds and enable them to play freely together.
The band draws from jazz, middle eastern, pop, rock, improvisation, classical and Latin music.
It seeks to become A Bigger MOUTH
