‘Gestures’ is a collection of limited edition mixed media prints.
It all started with a series of photographs I took, shot from the hip, at the Hundred Years Gallery in 2024.
I printed them out – something I rarely do – which prompted a playful reworking of the prints. I use a pick ’n’ mix of different media: drawing, painting, collage and some more unorthodox methods including tearing it apart, dropping it into the trash, then walking back on it, and patching it back together differently.
Usually I rephotograph and reprint the work several times, introducing a process of layering as I keep working over and adding to the work before the final print.
Some of the prints are hand-finished, and few are one-off artworks.
