The Rick Jensen Trio

Founded in Wellington, New Zealand in 1999, it was Rick’s first exploration of free jazz. The line up changed and settled at different points (sometimes Quartet/Quintet) and they released a number of albums before Rick moved to the UK in 2006. He revived the project in London in 2007 and continued to 2011 playing frequently and releasing more albums before dissolving when Rick had some kind of life crisis… Rick moved on to start Apocalypse Jazz Unit in 2013 bringing former RJ3 members and then started SKRONK in 2016 when AJU really took off, this brought in many other musicians and Rick recruited many into AJU, which is where he met Ravi Low-Beer and Jordan Muscatello who will be the rest of the Trio for this show. Rick revived The Rick Jensen Trio in 2021 and has been continuing since with several more albums and more gigs.
