How Does Pain Sleep?

Ali Ahmed Sadaq, a writer, recites this, his piece How Does Pain Sleep on a video. Ali has played a key role in managing the Gaza Lifeline Project ever since co-founding the project in November 2023. He crossed the Rafar border into Egypt in February 2024.

Now is The Time of Monsters

An audio recording of Noel Grassy Macken’s poem recited by him and, accompanied by Mai Nguyen Tri dancing and music by Mark Rathmell. Three immensely creative souls who have collaborated in producing performance art for many years.

Mai is a dance artist specialising in improvisation and mainly inspired by the Japanese butoh dance, a form of dance that emerged in the early 1950s in the aftermath of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear bombings.

Poet and artist Noel Grassy Macken has performed and exhibited internationally from the Venice Biennale to the Tate.

His satirical poetry and poetic prose, often seeped in folklore, expose the cataclysmic corruption of powerful corporations and political psychopaths scorching our earth and destroying the lives of millions of our sisters and brothers across the world. At times stark, at others magical, his poetry and art bring us face-to-face with humanity’s failings, it’s gruesome greed, selfishness and violence whilst also igniting a beacon of hope in the darkness, and a light to where peace resides.
