Simon Camatta
Simon Camatta (1976) is an internationally renowned improvisational and jazz drummer. He breaks the mold with evening-long, improvised drum solo concerts and interdisciplinary works in unusual, off-site venues. On his album “This is not a Solo Record,” he collaborated with guests and field recordings. He studied jazz at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and plays shows with various groups, in theaters, and with independent dance companies. He also works with visual artists as part of his project “Drums Meets Canvas.” He curates two festivals and lives in Essen/Germany. He has worked with Vincent von Schlippenbach, Fred Frith, John Edwards, Caroline Kraabel, Bex Burch, John Butcher, Viv Corringham, Chris Corsano, Axel Dörner, Jaap Blonk, FM Einheit, Casper Brötzmann, Silke Eberhard, Charlotte Hug, Thomas Lehn, Maggie Nicols, Rachel Musson and Corey Mwamba amongst many others.

Alan Wilkinson
Alan Wilkinson was a formative part of the Leeds experimental music scene in the 80s, founding the Termite Club and as part of the ferocious Hession/Wilkinson/Fell trio. Since relocating to London in 1990 he has continued to play and promote the music and remains one of the most powerful saxophone voices around today, recently adding bass clarinet to his usual Alto and Baritone. He has played with Derek Bailey, Peter Brötzmann, Chris Corsano, Akira Sakata, Thurston Moore, Spiritualized and many others, and is currently active with his Norwegian quartet Akode, Wilkinson/Edwards/Noble, amongst many other projects.

Hilary Robinson
Hilary studied contemporary classical music composition with teachers including Kaija Saariaho, Anders Eliasson and Geoff Poole, and holds a postgraduate degree (with distinction) in composition. Moving to Finland in the early 90s for further composition and piano studies at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki on a Finnish government scholarship, she lived there for a decade. Since returning to the UK, she has been based in London. Her music has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, Resonance FM and Curved Radio (Australia), and performed in Europe, the US and the UK at festivals including London’s Music We’d Like to Hear, the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival and the former British Music Information Centre’s Cutting Edge series. She has worked with musicians on both sides of the Atlantic, ensembles such as the Fidelio Trio and Ensemble Noszferatu, and pianists including Jonathan Powell, Mary Dullea, Mark Knoop and Waka Hasegawa. In recent years her music has absorbed elements of jazz and pop as I’ve become more active as a performer in different musical contexts. Some of my scores are held in the British Music Collection or self-published; Februa for ukulele is published by Donald Bousted Edition.
