Exhibition : TRANSGRESSIVE by Jill Rock. 4th to 21st December 2025

TRANSGRESSIVE
An immense freedom.

Urban myths, current and historical, a tale of raves and tragedy.

Private view Thursday 4th December 6.30 to 9.30pm

For nearly 30 years I have picked fragments of wood wondering at the intricate forms which are like a map of the tree’s life. By the cultural act of painting I follow that map to explore ideas – in this case the transgressive acts of Nero’s Golden Palace and Dante’s 13th Canto of Hell.

Wherever in the world, painting fragments of wood picked up off the ground, Jill Rock tackles the problem of the relationship between object and subject, working where nature, culture and art meet.

Jill Rock, MRSS FRGS has worked and shown her work in London, Liverpool, the Lake District, Hastings, Berlin, Holland, Spain, Paris, Gras Austria, Lake Geneva, Turin, Milan, Venice, Sardinia, Naples, Puglia and Rome; NYC, Austin Texas, Sao Paulo and Florianopolis in Brasil, Santiago and Chiloe in Chile, Mar del Plata in Argentina, Uruguay, Bierut, Hong Kong and Sydney.

“I am happy to be back at Hundred Years Gallery with my 4th show following:
DROnULtiMaRAtiO, Whiteout, DARK, Festival of the unseen”.

Transgressive events include poetry and performance: Thursdays 11th and 18th December 6.00 to 8.30pm
