Forward and Back : A presentation of New Works given by young musicians POSTPONED. Saturday 21st March 19:30

Presented by Jack Jones, Forward and Back is a showcase of works written for wind instruments for the 20th century and now. Jack is a recent graduate from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and already has experience presenting, curating and performing in new music concerts across the capital. Making his debut at Hundred Years Gallery, Jack is joined by contemporaries specialising in the performance of new works alongside composers who relish the chance to experiment and enquire in a diverse range of performance spaces. Expect transcendent minimalism, harsh modernism and wild electronics.

Eden Lonsdale is a composer from Berlin. He has studied composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Malcolm Singer, Cassandra Miller and Julian Anderson, Kunstuniversität Graz with Klaus Lang and UdK Berlin with Anton Safronov. His music has been performed internationally by soloists such as Giovanni Sollima,  Jonathan Powell, Domonkos Csabay and Satoko Inoue as well as ensembles including Lemberg Sinfonietta, Members of the LCO, 100Celli, Ensemble für Neue Musik der KUG, WorkshOPERA, GSMD New Music Ensemble, EXAUDI, Lakeside Brass and E4TT.

Recent performances have taken place in Ryogoku Monten Hall, Tokyo, Old First Concerts, San Francisco, Triennale Teatro dell’Arte, Milano, Omnibus Clapham, the Courtauld Gallery, Lviv National Philharmonic, Silk Street Music hall, the Barbican Centre, György-Ligeti-Saal, Graz and the London Transport Museum. Eden is also a founding member and participating performer of ‘Red Panel’, a new music collective operating in London and Berlin.

Nicholas Hann is a composer and saxophonist. Nicholas experiments with the combination of music with elements of theatre and performance art.
