Neil Metcalfe/Barry Edwards/Colin Somervell
Formed in 2024 and having performed and recorded regularly since then, this trio combines lyricism and textural improvisation in a chamber-like setting. Flautist Neil Metcalfe is an esteemed veteran of the improv scene since the 1970’s while Barry Edwards and Colin Somervell have been collaborating together since the early 2000’s. Their first recording ‘Today is, still..’ will be released in May 2025.
Tom Challenger + Benedict Taylor
Tom Challenger (saxophone) and Benedict Taylor (viola) reconvene their playing together for the first time in 18 months. They have performed together extensively in various ensembles and improvising formats and can be heard on ‘Strite’s Balnae’ (Sche-ima Records, 2022), and ‘Stiga’ (Grain Imprint, 2024) recorded with Caius Williams.
Oliver Dixon is a poet and writer based in Hertfordshire. He is the author of three books: Human Form (2013), Who the Hell is Friedrich Nietzsche?(2019) and Incompletion (2025). He also works as a Creative Writing tutor and a college lecturer.
