Henry Prince presents experimental guitarists performing original compositions and improvisations. Henry will perform his new work “An Exercise In Motion” for electric guitar quartet with Julian Woods, Arun Thavasothy and Leo Morland. Henry’s album is out soon featuring a version for saxophone and trombone quartet.

Experimental wunderkind Maddie Ashman will perform with acoustic microtonal guitar and electronics. Zeyn Mroueh makes unique, cinematic soundscapes and noise using samples, vocals and layers of guitar with effects. John Bisset is an experimental guitarist and improviser performing with lap steel.

Henry Prince
Henry Prince is a Franco-English composer and improviser based in London. His main instruments are acoustic and electric, guitar and fretless bass guitar. He also composes for and performs with brass and wind players. He composes using sound manipulation, effects pedals and explores the physical effects of pure and impure harmony. Henry has been playing on the London noise/metal/jazz improv circuit since 2022 and out of this began self-releasing home recordings in 2023. In September 2024 he released “His body is sturdy and the skin, puckered by the cold, hugs ligneous muscles” on London label Lost Wisdom and launched the cassette at Cafe Oto. In 2025, Henry will release “An Exercise in Motion” composed for sax and trombone quartet and electric guitar quartet performed with musicians from Guildhall and recorded at Big Limbo Studios. He will be performing this material as well as composing his next work for 50 guitars and ebows set to premiere in 2026.

Maddie Ashman
Maddie Ashman is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter from the UK whose music often explores “just intonation” (pure tuning) and its connections to nature and the environment.
Her work has been presented all over the world, with her audiovisual installation ‘Through the Motions’ shown at COP-27 (Egypt), Ferrara Short Film Corto Festival (Italy), Aldeburgh Festival and Dartington’s Thrive Festival (UK). Maddie’s work ‘Foghar’ won the 2024 International Microtonal Guitar Competition and the RWCMP Orpheus Prize in Wales, and her string quartet ‘Gravitation’ is performed regularly by Del Sol Quartet (San Francisco).
Recent performance highlights include a sold out show at Soundidea (Istanbul) with microtonal guitarist Tolgahan Çoğulu, a premiere of her new work ‘Painting with Glass’ with cross-cultural GOKUMI ensemble at Club Inegales (London) and sold-out multidisciplinary show ETHERS, created in collaboration with FAUZIA and D&B Audio, at King’s Place (London). Maddie has performed a live session for BBC Radio 1 at Maida Vale Studios, and was a finalist in their Introducing Live Lounge competition in 2022. She has also been tipped by BBC Radio 6Music, BBC Introducing, and Reprezent Radio. She has supported artists such as Tom Rosenthal, Tom Robinson and Alfie Templeman on UK and European tours.
Maddie’s debut album, supported by Help Musicians, The Finzi Trust, and NextGen, is set for release this year

Zeyn Mroueh
Zeyn Mroueh is a Cypriot-born, Lebanese-Palestinian musician and producer who is based in London. He composes primarily for the electric guitar as well using an array of samples, effects and vocals to develop a unique and cinematic live experience that ranges through ambient soundscapes and experimental noise as well as breaking down into tender and melodic moments of clarity.

John Bisset
John Bisset is a musician and visual artist based in London. His work ranges between free improvisation and composition including songmaking/singing. He is currently improvising on the lapsteel guitar, using preparations and moving in an increasingly abstract sound world.
Recent music includes the release, in October 2022, of O||o an album of solo lapsteel improvisations.
