Matt Atkins celebrates turning 50 with an evening of improv in the basement and songs in the upstairs bar.
Bringing together friends old and new, the evening will kick off with a trio from Craig Stewart Johnson (Rovellasca, Invisible City Records), IVY NOSTRUM and Matt, their first performance together. This is followed by a set from [something’s happening], the duo of Iris Colomb and Daryl Worthington, and finally a trio from James O’Sullivan, Christopher Hill and Douglas Benford (who released Matt’s first solo electronic album back in 1995!)
Between these sets there will be two, three song acoustic sets of cover versions from Matt’s band mates from Smallgang and Crumbling Ghost. Matt picked the bands, and Simon, Toshi and Katie have picked the songs.
