Ulf Mengersen is a bass player who is active in the fields of experimental, improvised and contemporary music. Since he finished his studies at the Franz Liszt Hochschule Weimar in 2007 he is based in Berlin and part of the European experimental music scene.
He improvises with large ensembles like the Berlin Improvisers Orchestra and the London Improvisers Orchestra. In small ensembles he collaborates with musicians like Shuichi Chino, Lina Allemano, Thomas Rehnert, THE CHEMICAL EXPANSION LEAGUE with Sue lynch, Adrian Northover, Adam Bohman, the quintet Discoveries with Hui Chun Lin, Davide Piersanti, Klaus Kürvers…
As a performer of contemporary music he was part of the theatre production ‘Ich, Ikarus’ at Theater an der Parkaue Berlin and played with Ensemble United Berlin, Ensemble Ilinx and at Neuköllner O-Töne.
