Mervyn Diese returns to perform the third session of his 23 music project, playing a solo set of music for 23 minutes, followed by a second set inviting the audience to participate.
Drawing on a catalog of songs dating from his days in the band Dead Dog Mountain to his current solo performances. Sessions can be quite chaotic lurching from blues and punk to odd improvised quirk, usually with a political slant. He often uses the music to note the troubles of the day, and pass comment on them.
His writing usually involves an element of storytelling, with recent works detailing events of the pandemic, and the disasters of 13 years of Tory Government.
It’s is also a chance to buy a copy of the printed version of his songbook which was launched here last year with 23 hand-built songbooks. This version is different to the hand-built ones, and contains 14 songs. Plus an extra song not listed on the index. A little special for Christmas as a nod to the old Dead Dog Mountain puppy For Christmas releases.
There will also be a chance to buy a selection of his artworks for the price of £23.
