A reading/performance by Chinese poet Yang Lian & prose writer YoYo & with translations read by Stephen Watts & Cristina Viti, followed by a walk led by Gareth Evans from Hundred Years Gallery to the Lea Valley, with further brief readings along the way by Yang Lian, YoYo, Stephen & Cristina.
Yang Lian is one of the foremost Chinese poets of the past 50 years with many books in English translation, including most recently ‘A Tower Built Downwards’ (Blooodaxe Books 2023) & ‘Lea Valley Poems’ (Bloodaxe Books 2009) from which he will read. YoYo‘s most recent book in English translation are the four short novellas of ‘One Man’s Decision To Become A Tree’(PalmArt Press) & she will read from that.
