Solo and duo sets by Simon Rose – alto and baritone saxophones and Adam Bohman – prepared strings and amplified objects / spoken word. Guest performer Michael Speers – amplified percussion & tape loops
Simon Rose plays baritone and alto saxophones. Born in London, England, he has performed in Europe, Canada and USA. As well as collaborating with those who play traditional instruments, Rose performs with musicians who employ self-designed instruments and electronics. He is also interested in collaborations beyond music. Performing solo is an ongoing project: ‘Procession,’ solo alto and ‘Schmetterling,’ solo baritone. Music recordings can be found on the labels: Emanem, Leo, PSI, Bruce’s Fingers, Not Two, Rayon and PFMentum. http://www.simonrose.org/
Adam Bohman is a genius who needs no introduction to Hundred Years Gallery regulars, but, until we have time to write his blurb, you can download or listen to his recent BBC Radio3 podcast here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/ljs
Michael Speers‘ practice lies in Noise-based improvisation. He uses amplified acoustic percussion, tape loops and processed no-input feedback to create abrasive, saturated textures and rhythms.
