The Hundred Years Gallery Archive Show presents a live session for Sonica.FM: A quiet, exploratory program by Otto Willberg (double bass), Laurie Tompkins (electronics) and Joe Snape (sound recordings).
doors 4:30, concert starts 5pm sharp. FREE ENTRY / donations
Otto Willberg lives in Manchester and can often be heard using the double bass to make sounds and sometimes even music.
Laurie Tompkins writes playful, erratic music for instruments and electronics from bases in Berlin and the UK. He co-directs the publishing imprint Slip with Tom Rose, and writes intermittently on modern music online for Electronic Beats.
Joe Snape works with archives of sound recordings to make immersive musical performances. Like a levelled snowfield or a smoothed pebble, the plane surfaces of his sounds speak to something bigger: of being slowly, gently, and thoroughly worn away.
