The second concert in multi-instrumentalist, improviser, poet and painter Terry Day‘s 2015 season at Hundred Years Gallery with a star studded cast of collaborators including, this month, Steve Beresford (electronics, objects) and multi-instrumentalist Tasos Stamou (circuit-bent toys, zither, electronics), who will be joined by artist, radio presenter and improviser Sharon Gal (voice and hand-held electronics).
Sharon Gal is an experimental vocalist, performer, composer and cross-disciplinary artist. With particular interest in free improvisation and participatory/collaborative compositions, she works electro-acoustically, using field recordings, electronics, and various musical instruments. She performs solo, and collaborates with other musicians, including; David Toop, Steve Beresford, Phil Minton, Steve Noble, Alex Ward, Andie Brown and Lina Lapelyte.
She also performs a series of collaborative experimental compositions L’esprit d’escalier, Toy Orchestra, Long Drone, Room to breathe, and Gals with Guitars.
Sharon’s music was released by Ash International, American Tapes, Chocolate Monk, Emanem , Ecstatic Yod, Paradigm and The Tapeworm labels, with the recent release, Voice Studies, on My Dance The Skull.
