The Next Room is a multi-modal performance group whose native habitat is the world of site-specific Hit-and-Run Installations. Its 18 strong (size flexible) pool of experimental performers create dream-worlds within unlikely environments. In a Next Room performance, images, sounds and movement sequences triggered by our mix of Musicians/Music Therapists; Experimental Theatre performance artists; Movement artists; Live artist; Image and Sound Mixing artists and Narrator provide feedback-loops that are woven into obscurely apt narratives, somewhat similar to those that occur in dreams. Each piece is part of a responsive process that strives towards a new performance ritual that is both collaborative and virtuosic.
