Ana Milovanovic : Waiting For The Royal Wedding, We Remember Lady Di. Friday 27 April. 16:30

Performance in the window of Hundred Years Gallery by Ana Milovanovic

‘A body installation of Lady Di dressed in a Versace dress is my private memory of a piece in the Versace exhibition at V&A Museum.

‘We should try to construct and deconstruct images of her existing in art, collective memory and everyday life! Try throwing out prejudices from our collective and personal unconscious. (My private memory would be of participation too when I was in Britain the first time, during the days of Lady Di’s death and funeral. I remember yet very strong and deep collective emotions of British society and it is my most impressive emotion about Britain until now. )

‘In this performance She appears as a metaphor for harmonious beauty but also a symbol of the tragedy of our world! Because we are conscious of the fact that we are living in the second of the dark ages, our position as Intellectuals in this Age of Globalisation could only be “Ask essential questions!“

‘As her performance requires Why Why she ought to die, potential energy of the artist’s body becomes social energy , radical critique of her body  as it functions in the realm of virtual realism, social interactions and spirituality of our times.

‘We should try to construct and deconstruct images of her existing in art, collective memory and everyday life! Try  to throw out prejudices from our collective and personal unconscious’…. (Ana Milovanovic 2018)
