Jamison-WilliamsJamison Williams (solo soprano saxophone)

Door 7:30 | music 8pm | entry £5

Jamison Williams will be performing excerpts/divisions/thematic expositions from his newly released book, “Interpretations from the Disney Songbook”; deconstructed, highly interpretative, and monumentally passionate.

Performing with Jamison on a set of selected ‘expanded pieces’ from ‘Interpretations/Disney Songbook’, will be Rick Jensen on tenor saxophone and clarinet, Jordan Muscatello, bass, Kris Reeder, trombone, Luisa Tucciariello, vocals and flute, and Michele Paccagnella on guitar

“’Interpretations from the Disney Songbook (for solo soprano saxophone)’, 400 pages of Disney interpreted compositions; every handwritten, graphic notated piece is paired with detailed directives, explaining the value of each compositional movement, “course of action”, and role/temperament of the narrator. This is a monolith of tireless efforts, painstakingly crafted, and bleeds the words of absolute obsession; carefully extracted from a collection of over 800 pieces, these are the favorites of the litter, songs/memories I feel are my truest representation of purity and creative honesty. A soliloquy of passion and determination.”

Relentlessly creative, and challenging the boundaries of saxophonic extended techniques, Jamison Williams’ role in defining the pursuit of expressive freedom through the use of the instrument cannot be understated; from founding the Experimental Arts Union of Florida, +SoLo Sound Gallery, and Vantage Bulletin publishing, to designing the educational curriculum currently taught at [neu]Sonics Music Initiative, his energy is contagious and an inspiration.
