An evening that brings together all possible duos and a Trio. This evening sees Challenger and Tremblay release their forthcoming album ‘Twill’.

Pierre Alexandre Tremblay (Montréal, 1975) is a composer and a performer on bass guitar and sound processing devices, in solo and within various ensembles. He has also collaborated on a variety of projects, playing bass guitar and manipulating sound. He is a member of ars circa musicæ, de type inconnu, light.box, and Splice. He is a member of the London-based collective Loop, and his music is released on Empreintes DIGITALes and Ora.

He formally studied composition with Michel Tétreault, Marcelle Deschênes, and Jonty Harrison, bass guitar with Jean-Guy Larin, Sylvain Bolduc, and Michel Donato, analysis with Michel Longtin and Stéphane Roy, studio technique with Francis Dhomont, Robert Normandeau, and Jean Piché.

Pierre Alexandre is Professor in Composition and Improvisation at the University of Huddersfield (England, UK), he anchored the Fluid Corpus Manipulation project.

Alex Bonney is a trumpeter, electronic musician and recording/mix engineer and producer based in London. He leads the Alex Bonney Quartet, is a member of Leverton Fox, light.box, BABs, Golden Age of Steam, The Olie Brice Quintet, and performs solo with electronics and in a variety of other improvising ensembles. When not performing Alex works with a variety of artists producing and engineering music for leading jazz, improvised and contemporary music record labels including ECM.

Born in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, Tom Challenger is a saxophonist, composer and educator. He collaborates regularly with Kit Downes; co-leads the trio ‘Uncanny Valley’ with Phil Donkin (Bass) and Oli Steidle; Fofoulah (with whom he recently produced their second LP); and an improvising Trio with Alex Hawkins and Mark Sanders. He has recently collaborated with Lauren Kinsella, Robert Stillman, P.A. Tremblay and Agile Experiments. His latest recordings include 4 albums of solo materials, in addition to other albums that explore group improvisation
