Double bassist David Leahy’s long interest in movement has led him to extending his creative practice to incorporate Contact Improvisation, an improvised dance style created in the 1970’s, and David has performed as a dancer/musician throughout Europe.
Loz Speyer (trumpet, flugelhorn) improvises in small groups (like this trio) and large (LIO) and his own bands, which he also composes for (Cuban-jazz six-piece Time Zone and free jazz quintet Inner Space). During lockdown, he brought together a pool of musicians and artists for a series of art-music collaborations online, under the name Spherical Improv.
As an improviing musician, ‘cellist Paloma Carrasco Lopez has worked with Maggie Nicols, Ilan Volkov, Keith Tippett, William Parker and Agustí Fernández, also collaborating as a performer with composer Fran M. M. Cabeza de Vaca, engaging with highly enriching creative processes. She has been involved in various multidisciplinary projects, with visual artists, poets and dancers.
