Steve Noble
Steve Noble is London’s leading drummer, a fearless and constantly inventive improviser whose super-precise, ultra-propulsive and hyper-detailed playing has galvanized encounters with Derek Bailey, Matthew Shipp, Ishmael Wadada Leo Smith, Stephen O’Malley, Joe McPhee, Alex Ward, Rhodri Davies and many, many more. In the early eighties, Noble played with the Nigerian master drummer Elkan Ogunde, Rip Rig and Panic, Brion Gysin and the Bow Gamelan Ensemble, before going on to work with the pianist Alex Maguire and with Derek Bailey (including Company Weeks 1987, 89 and 90).
Daniel Thompson
Daniel Thompson is a guitarist and improvising musician currently living in Hackney, London. He was born in Norfolk, England in 1981 and other than a couple of years playing violin as a child, his musical studies didn’t seriously begin until his late teens. Largely self-taught, after moving to London in 2006 Daniel embarked upon a life changing period studying with the guitarist John Russell for two years, who “provided me with one of the richest and most rewarding musical experiences of my life”. A part of the fertile London improvising music scene Daniel has also played at many other venues across the UK and Europe.
Tom Jackson
Tom Jackson is a clarinettist and saxophonist active in London and Europe, largely dedicated to the fields of contemporary classical music and free improvisation. He maintains an extensive and eclectic performance schedule and has performed throughout Europe, Australia and Hong Kong. Tom has performed as principal clarinet with many
orchestras including New London Sinfonia and British Sinfonietta and National Chamber Orchestra of Wales. He has worked with various contemporary chamber groups such as Apartment House, Lontano, Plus-Minus, ChampdAction, Ictus, Splinter Cell and Cardiff New Music Collective, which he co-founded. He is an active session musician, playing for albums and live shows. He has recently completed a PhD at Canterbury Christ Church University on relational aesthetics and free improvisation. Tom is vastly experienced in teaching all ages and is regularly consulted on the publication of pedagogical material. He is currently preparing four books of etudes for clarinet and saxophone for 360 Music.
Sue Lynch
Sue Lynch has performed with Adam Bohman, Eddie Prevost, Hutch Demouilpied, Richard Sanderson, Steve Noble, Crystabel Riley, Nuria Andorra, Caroline Kraabel and Sharon Gal. In 2012 she set up and now co-runs The Horse Improvised Music Club, in London, with Adam Bohman. She currently performs with Psychedelic Afro Beat Sudanese band ‘The Scorpios’. In 2016 she formed ‘Paradise Yard’, an electro acoustic ensemble, featuring women improvisers. In 2018, she performed at 3 Klange Tag Music &Word Festival, Switzerland with Hildegard Kleeb and at The Tusk Festival , Womad BBC Stage and Guess Who Festival with The Scorpios. Recently she performed solo saxophone at Pied Nu Festival Le Havre.
Hutch Demouilpied
Hutch is a composer, sound designer and musician who is based in the UK. As an accomplished musician she plays trumpet and has her own music released and has performed with Sue Lynch, Richard Sanderson, Steve Noble, Mark Sanders and Eddie Prevost amongst others.
