Residency : Ben Connors. 22nd to 24th June

Artist Ben Connors will be spend two days in residence at Hundred Years Gallery re-visiting the last 10 years of comic strips he has produced and collaborated on. Out of this, he aims to re-work, re-draw and construct fresh narrative strains that he will perform as a human slide show to live music. His practise as an illustrator and comic/zine maker can be traced directly back to the Geffrye Estate where he worked as PA to Gabriel Hardisty-Miller, a young autistic man- with whom he became incredibly close friends with. Together they created the PIgPen club night and comic series, Snizz Comics– which ran for 4 years in the neighbourhood. Since his death aged just 25, Ben has continued to align his work with poetry, music, design, Autistic and Learning Disabled voices through collaboration.

On the 15th July Ben will perform some of his drawings with invited musicians, PigPen crew new and old and other acts TBC.
