‘Against the Day’ is a site specific performance that Rita Says has been developing for the past eight years in many different venues, such as Terry Duffy Gallery, Shunt, Victoria & Albert Museum, Vogue Art Festival, etc. The performance makes use of windows, corridors, or bathrooms as a stage where Rita is constantly changing her clothes in front of a mirror. This provokes and unfolds, creating in the audience an inevitable sense of voyeurism.
Saturday 20th July, 8pm: Rita Says will perform ‘Against The Day’ in the downstairs exhibition space. The presentation begins at 8.00 with a short film accompanied by The Jerico Orchestra, followed by the main performance, ending at approximately 8.45/9.00. Gallery Patrons and those wishing to view the presentation should arrive early.
Saturday 27th July from 10pm: In Hundred Years Gallery, ‘Against the Day’ will be performed in the window after closing time. To be viewed from the street.
