On Sunday April 30th at Hundred Years Gallery Rita Says will be presenting 2 short films and 1 new performance: this afternoon event is a celebration of the current centenary of the October Revolution.
Both film pieces are directed by Roland Denning (and produced by Dartmouth Films) for Tariq Ali`s teleSUR Show `The World Today`. The first film is a documentary that features Rita Says discussing the contemporary relevance of `The Symphony of Sirens` created by the Soviet avant garde composer Arseny Avraamov.
The 2nd film is a record of a unique live performance of `The Symphony of Sirens` produced by Rita Says at Limehouse Town Hall in February of this year.
Both Rita Says and Hundred Years Gallery gratefully acknowledge Dartmouth Films` generosity in allowing these documentaries to be screened.
In the second half of the event Rita Says will present `J.O. 26654`. This new performance is the result of research carried out during her recent March to April residency at the gallery, using body movement to generate sound whilst referencing Avraamov`s political and aesthetic practice.
