Tapiwa Svosve with Tom Wheatley & David Meier. Saturday 13th January 7:30

Tapiwa Svosve and David Meier have been playing improvised music together for the last 3 or 4 years. This is the second time where they’ll be joined by Tom Wheatley.

Tapiwa Svosve is a saxophonist and organiser living in Zurich.

David Meier is a drummer and composer from Switzerland, living in Zürich. He co-founded the internationally active band Schnellertollermeier which plays uncompromising music ranging from modern composition, minimal music and improv to brute rock music. In a trio with cellist Alfred Zimmerlin and guitarist Flo Stoffner as well as in the band Things to Sounds and many other ensembles he explores the possibilities of his instrument and his musical language in the context of free improvised music.

Tom Wheatley is a double bass and electric bass player based in, and native to, London. He plays to open the bass – sonically and physically, musically and surgically. He is actively involved in new music communities of London and elsewhere, playing with Seymour Wright, Mark Sanders and Yoni Silver, Eddie Prévost, John Edwards, Cynthia, Paal Nilssen-Love, Guillaume Viltard and many others.
