Hackney Artist Mervyn Diese brings together a group of disparate Eastend artists examining their uneasy relationship with social media.
Social media is changing the way we socialise, but with a dangerous caveat: that the urge for likes and comments is addictive, and drives people to spend increasing amounts of time on apps like Facebook, to the detriment of what is left of their real, non-virtual lives. It is also an arena for the rapid spread of misinformation and downright propaganda, and it changes the way we share and perceive images.
This exhibition will be a purposely oblique attempt by the artists concerned to address this issue and change the entire situation for the better. You can thank us later.
