Iris Garrelfs with Jude C Montague and John Bisset
The Potting Shed is a night of improvised sounds curated by Jude Cowan Montague and Iris Garrelfs. It’s all about nurturing sounds and connections with a lighthearted approach to creating things on the hoof.
Improvising guitarist John Bisset made his live debut in his teens, but he began to get noticed on the London free improv scene only around 1995. He played with many of the city’s free improvisors and formed The London Electric Guitar Orchestra. He has continued to play both improv (with regular collaborators like Rhodri Davies and Burkhard Beins) and in left field pop groups like Pocket and Country Dad. He also produces extraordinary videos with Ivor Kallin for 2.13 TV.
For this event Jude Cowan Montague and Iris Garrelfs are embarking on a motile performance exploring and responding to the gallery space with voice, drawing and general sonic tomfoolery.
Rabbit is a duo where the driving, intense, urban, mesmeric drums of David Aylward (Blurt) provide the perfect foil for the layers of edgy originality and profound musicality that emanate from the multi-instrumentalist Tom Scott. Always improvised, always emotive, they produce a contemporary, experimental urban folk mash, merging and mutating genres in an on-going dialogue of sound and music.
