Daniel Thompson is a guitarist and improvising musician currently living in Hackney, London. He was born in Norfolk, England in 1981 and other than a couple of years playing violin as a child, his musical studies didn’t seriously begin until his late teens. Largely self-taught, after moving to London in 2006 Daniel embarked upon a life changing period studying with the guitarist John Russell for two years, who “provided me with one of the richest and most rewarding musical experiences of my life”.

Benedict Taylor is a solo violist and composer. He is an active figure within the area of contemporary string performance, at the forefront of the British & European new and improvised music scene. He performs, records & composes internationally, appearing at many venues and festivals including Cafe Oto, Jazz en Nord France, Royal Court Theatre, The Vortex, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, London Contemporary Music Festival, Aldeburgh Festival and ICA London. As an improviser Benedict has worked with leading figures of the music including Evan Parker, Wadada Leo Smith, Phil Minton, Pat Thomas and many others too numerous to mention. Benedict releases music through his own Subverten label as well as co-running CRAM with Daniel Thompson and Tom Jackson, producing live events and releases.

Tom Jackson is a clarinetist and saxophonist, largely dedicated to the fields of contemporary classical music and free improvisation. He has performed as principal clarinet with many orchestras including New London Sinfonia and British Sinfonietta and National Chamber Orchestra of Wales. He has worked with various contemporary chamber groups such as Apartment House, Lontano, Plus-Minus and Cardiff New Music Collective, which he co- founded.

Neil Metcalfe has been active on London improvising scene since the 70s. He has played with, among many others: Evan Parker, Roscoe Mitchell, Paul Dunmall, Lol Coxhill and Tony Marsh and was a member of the Spontaneous Music Ensemble, considered by many to be the flagship European Improvising Ensemble.

Sylvia Hallett is London-based improviser/composer who has worked in a variety of settings including music, dance and theatre. She is a violinist, vocalist and player of bicycle wheel and electronics and has composed music for a number of radio plays.
